It looks really purple in the picture but I promise, it's actually pink
So Maybelline outed a new nail polish collection called Polka Dots. It's not so new anymore but I have had this post unfinised in my draft for ages and I still wanted to post it. :)
So, as soon as I saw these polishes I really wanted to try them. They looked so cool, and it's a totally fresh idea that I haven't seen before. I actually only bought one colour, which was pink and I think it's a really nice shade. The dots in it are white blue and black.
When I applied the first layer I thought that this is a really crappy polish because it was very sheer and you could only see the dots on your nails, not the base colour which in that case was pink. But as I put on the second layer, the pink really came in and then it looked so nice, I really love how it looks on nails.
I seriousely thought that this was going to be my new favourite nailpolish but when I started taking it off, the nailpolish became my worst nightmare.
You know the usual glittery ones that are really hard to remove, well this one is like REALLY hard to remove. I tried all the tips that claim to make it easier but nothing worked. I ended up just taking the pink off with nailpolish remover and then the dots that were stuck to my nails, I just scraped them off. It really wasn't a smart thing to da as it's really bad for nails but nothing else worked!
In conclusion, I'm not even sure if I'm going to use it ever again, but the overall look on the nails is pretty so if you're willing to go through some hard times with the removing part then you should really try this polka dots line. I actually really like Maybelline polishes very much so I'm looking forward to the next idea that they will come up with
Have you tried any from this collection? What are your thoughts on Maybelline polishes overall?
Heyya! It's been a while since I've posted something here. Infact, the only time that you saw something on this blog in this month was a guest post by MissBeccaBeauty. I hope you liked it, if you missed it, you can read it here. I really like Becca's blog so it was nice letting her write something on mine too, I also made a guest post on her blog, you can read it here :) Okay, newsflash over, let's get cracking with the main theme of this post.
I have ALWAYS had the problem of not enough space in my room, so don't even get me started on my desk, it is pretty much always messy and you can find anything on top of that, from makeup brushes to chargers, plants small bags etc. etc.
So one beautiful day I decided that it has to end because I couln't even find my eyeshadow palette anymore. I have seen all kinds of cups and bowls and boxes in different stationery stores and usually they just look really plain and ugly or the prettier ones cost way too much. I have also seen some really beautiful ones on pinterest and then I thought that why not to make them myself. You seriousely don't have to buy anything, you probably have all the stuff laying around the house.
Now, let me show you wht I used, ofcourse you can use absolutely anthing that you think might look nice.
-hot glue gun or superglue
-plain or colourful paper, as you wish. (you'll be using it to label so you can really just use anything)
-different colours of markers and one black marker
-strings, lace, ribbons, feathers, pearls... what ever you want to use to decorate
-jars, glasses, bowls (preferably with no pattern on it)
-glass paint, and if you don't have glass paint then nailpolish works exactly the same, that's what I used too
as you can see, my colour theme was pink and yellow but again you can choose what ever theme you like, or just do it very colourful :)
So I'm not gonna tell you step by step how and what to do cause I believe you can see it yourself too, it's no rocket science. Just plan out what you want to do and where you want to put it. Measure, cut, glue, draw and paint - simple as that! And one more thing, some of the best nailpolish brands that I think look nice on glass are Wet 'n Wild, ANNY and Flormar. These are what I liked to use the most
I have done quite a lot of these on my desk so I'm just gonna put some pictures here for you to maybe get some inspiration.
I hope you liked this post and found it helpful, let me know in the comments what do you think :)
In case you haven't noticed already I am not Merilinzz, she very kindly let me post on her blog so here we go...
Recently I went out and bought a lot of new lipsticks and one of the lipsticks was the MUA Shade 13. Previously I didn't own many lip products at all, but with some money in my purse I decided it was time to venture to the world of lipsticks. I never undertook the obsession with lipsticks, but after leaving the shop with 5 lips products, I understand why!
I was really eager to try a red lipstick, I didn't want to spend a fortune on a red lipstick in case I found it didn't suit me and this one was only £1 so I thought why not. I am super impressed with the quality of this lipstick considering it was £1. As you can see the colour is ridiculously pigmented and you only need to glide the lipstick once on your lips and BAM you have a gorgeous red lip.
I really like the creamy texture of the product. Because I have no previous experience in lipstick, I was a bit unsure of how easy it would be to apply, but I found it super easy and it needed no effort to apply. I really like the blue undertones in the colour, it makes my lips look really bold and helps to make my teeth look whiter, which is always a bonus!
There are a few things though that let this product down, only slightly. First is the packaging, I think the packaging looks really cheap and I am hoping that it won't break :/ Also I find that the red transfers quite a bit. I don't know if that is normal with red lipsticks but I just have to be careful about eating and drinking when I wear this. Now onto the name, I mean seriously Shade 13 sounds so boring and doesn't make it sound appealing. It would be so much better if they had names like "Ruby Red" or "Red like Rihanna" But for £1 I can definitely live with these minor issues!
I will be trying out more MUA lipsticks and some of their other products. If you have this lipstick or another MUA lipstick in a different shade, let me know in the comments which shade you have and why you like/dislike it!
Don't forget to head over to my blog where you can find the guest post Merilinzz did here and you can also check out my blog at the same time! I would really appreciate it if you would follow my blog on either GFC or BlogLovin. Thanks again to Merilinzz for letting me write here today :)
Hey! I can't believe it's SEPTEMBER already, where is that year flying?! Anyway, I desided to do summer favourites instead of monthly favourites throughout the whole summer just because I thought it would be much easier and I thought that I won't discover many new and great products too. Turns out, I was wrong, as I was looking at my makeup desk searching for stuff that I have loved this summer and want to share with you I found out that there's quite a lot, it's gonna be a long one so let's go!
-Fragrance-
This is the Kate Moss wild Meadow and this is THE perfect summer scent, it's fresh, it stays on and it's not too strong. I am so critically low on that and even though it has been my favourite this summer, I won't be re buying it, I've got my eyes set on the Marc Jacobs Honey, it smells heavenly!
-Nails-
From nails I have two favouries, one being Wet 'n Wild Wild Shine in Blazed. This polish is amazing, I remember it being very cheap (probably got it on bargain) and now I can't remember where I got it, I'm desperate to find out because I need to try out more colours from this collection. The Blazed is a really lovely peachy coral tone and it actually makes my hands look a bit more tanned and the pigment is amazing too, you can really easily just get done with one coat. On my nails it looks like it's a gel paint but it's actually not, it just looks so good :)
The other one is Maybelline Colorama in 214, it doesn't have a name but if I would have to choose it, I would say mint green (how original I know) This is again very pigmented and just such a nice colour too, so why not to love it.
-Hair-
This summer I've been loving two hair products, one of them is Timotei shampoo, as much as I know about the marketing area, it's sold in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland so sorry if you want it but you can't have it because you will want it after reading this. I bought it in a need for small bottle for traveling and I grabbed the first one that I could find which was the Timotei. When I tried it I realised I bought something amazing. First of all when I usually wash every other day then with this shampoo I can literally get away with 3 days in a row not washing, plus it smells amazing. As the bottle says, it's the glorious Jericho Rose that makes it so good, don't know what to say about that but it sure works for me. Whn you use it with Timotei conditioner the results are even better. Hair looks so healthy and glossy. The range has shampoos for every hair type.
The other favourite is Macadamia natural oil No Tangle. Macadamia has been on a hype for the past months now and I desided to get myself one of their products too. The no tangle is working very well, the only thing I don't like is the application, I wish it was a spray bottle but it's kind of a creamy thing... I use it in towel dried hair, I put in in my palms and run it through the ends of my hair and it just kind of...works wonders
-Makeup-
I bought the Rimmel Wake me up foundation only a few weeks ago and it's already in my favourites, that's how amazing this product is, I also made a full review on that so if you want to read more of my opinion on that then click here.
Next is Accesorize lip gloss and I really think it's under-rated, I haven't heard anybody raving about it but I think it's amazing. It's super pigmented, it smells nice, it has a huge range of colours and the package is super cute, mine has kind of rubbed off already, you can see it's well loved haha.
And ofcourse I can't get past the Bourjois Color Boost lipstick. This has also been on hype and I can see why, it's super nice, it's like a sheer, glossy lipstick, there are I think four colours available right now, I have the Peach on the beach and it's the best summer colour. The lipstick is so easy to apply since it looks like a pencil and it also glides really easily. It says it lasts for 10 hours...I'm gonna have to disagree with that part, sorry Bourjois, but other than that, it's amazing, highly recommend them.
Another bourjois product in my favourites, it's the healthy mix concealer. I found it from my mum's drawer and turns out she doesn't use it anymore so I proudly named it mine. This is perfect if you're looking for a bit heavier cover up i.e. if you have quite dark undereye circles (like I do sadly) for that, a little bit goes a very long way so if you accidently use too much it looks cakey but if you know what you're doing, it's fab.
And then I ofcourse have my burt's bees, the best thing in the world if you have dry lips, it is an instant moisturiser and it also smells really good, I've got the mango butter. The myth is that when you have just applied it, your lips don't want to stay together, hmm...
Maybelline the Rocket volum' express is the best mascara I've ever tried, no doubt. It makes my lashes so much fuller and thicker and longer but at the same time doesn't feel too heavy. It also comes off really easily even though I have the waterproof version.
Lastly I have two brushes, one from H&M a foundation brush and the other is from Ecotools a concealer brush, both of them bought quite recently and I love them. I still want the Real Techniques brush kit but I no longer feel the need for expert face brush, woop.
-Skin-
Let's start off with my two Garniers, both have the sorbet consistency that Garnier is loving lately, one of them is Nordic Moisture Match moisturiser and the other one is after sun in pomegrant. I love garnier, too shame that they use a bit too much bad ingredients, a bit too chemical but other than that, I love these two.
The next one is Caribbean Breeze Aloe Burn Relief. This is amazing if you have been frying in the sun for way too long and you kinda look like boiled lobster. You have to keep it in the fridge so that if you're burned then you can put this ice cold gel on you and it feels amazing.
The Lush toner water is in my faves because it refreshes my skin after a day of wearing makeup and when my skin just feels so tired, it swipes away all those feelings.
Another Garnier, and I again made a full review on it over here.
And another thing that I have made a review about is The Body Shop hand cream, read just how amazing it is over here.
Lastly I have the Fruttini cooling body spray in lime mint. It is the perfect thing to carry around in your purse on a hot summer day. It's refreshing and it's small enough to carry around with you.
And last but not least, here are my favourite songs of summer 2013. I just went through my playlist on my phone and some of them I don't listen anymore but I remember having them constantly on replay in the beginning of the summer :)
Nutella - Lewis Mokler
Wonderwall - Ed Sheeran
Great Escape - Mike Dignam
Nothing - Lewis Watson
Don't Let Me Go - Harry Styles
Best Song Ever - One Direction
I'm not a hardcore Directioner but I do love their songs :)
Hey LA - Ryan Beatty
Best Thing I Never Had - Beyonce
Cruise - Florida Georgia Line
Hey There Delilah - Plain White T's
Walks Like Rihanna - The Wanted
Grenade - Boyce Avenue
The Other Side - Jason Derulo
When I Was Your Man - Bruno Mars
And that is all! Told you it's gonna be a long post :P I Promise I'll never do that again if I have so many favourites but I hope you liked it anyway :)
