Hey there! Welcome to my last post on my blog this year. This is actually the year when I started blogging, yet it feels like I've been doing it for ages!
So, as usual, I'm gonna TRY to make some resolutions for the next year which in this case is 2014. Whoa, what the heck, how is it time for a new year again, it feels like just a few weeks ago I was shooting fireworks towards the sky to celebrate the beginning of 2013 and now I'm sat here, thinking of all the good stuff that happened in that year and how did it all went by with a blink of an eye.
Coming back to the resolutions, I tend to fail at most of these, like in the beginning of 2013 I said that I'll blog atleast every other day(in my lifestyle blog that is private) but about 2 weeks ago I discovered the same blog that was started in January and saw that I stopped blogging in March, whoops.
In the beginning year though I'm going to try my very best to stick to atleast half or more of my resolutions. So, long story short, here are my 6 resolutions for 2014.
*Start writing a notebook. I mean this kind of notebook where you write what have you planned doing at this date, this is going to be like my planner and I think it's going to be very helpful because I forget stuff so often! Also in this notebook I'm going to write what happened that day worldwide. Like on 25th August 2013 I would've written that Miley twerked at the VMA's with Robing Thicke.
*Make atleast 5 good deeds.
*Travel as much a possible. I already have one trip planned in March when I'm going to Germany with my class and I'm really looking forward to this!
*Study better. Since I have 3 exams in June I really need to get my s**t together and study. study. study. I really don't want to end up getting a 3. this resolutions also applies for the next garde.
*Write my blog. Once again I bring up the blog thing again, I really enjoy blogging but sometimes I don't make any posts for a while just because I'm lazy, this needs to stop.
*Eat healthy and work out. Yes I too, like every other person on this earth, have this resolution in my list. Every. Year. Let's just hope for the best I say!
So that is all for my resolutions this year.
Have a beautiful, magical, wonderful day and an amazing new year!
Heeey, this is a very special post for me to make, a few months(?) ago me and my friend from across the sea decided to do a little box swapping and since it fit perfectly into the month of December, we promised to open our packages at Christmas, not right when we get them. Which meant that I had to wait for 3 weeks and it was sooo hard! When I got the package in my mail (06.12) I literally jumped in the air. And when I got home I just like jumped on my bed and made all kinds of weird noises hahha, you can only imagine what I did when I opened it on Christmas morning :') Anyway, Lola, if you're reading it, thank you, I literally love all the stuff you got me :)
Who wouldn't be excited to see this in your mailbox!!
lllllllooook at all this stuff! This is just amazing
She got me London related stuff - she knows me far too well :) I love the key holder, I'm afraid I'm not gonna attach it to my keys though because I always tend to lose my keys and I definately don't want to lose this! And the London postcard has a lovey letter on the back of it, it was so cute to read it :) I forgot to mention, Lola is from the UK and I'm so envious of her!
I am now obsessed with dairy milk thanks to Lola and it makes me sad that I can't buy it when ever I want. But she did say that she might send me some for my birthday :')
This is all the beauty stuff she got me. First of all, the white chocolate mousse mask, well that just sounds amazing, can't wait to try it! Then the little pink tin, this is so adorable and I am definately going to carry it around with me everywhere because it really moisturizes my lips so well . And I can't believe I actually own MUA, like I, own MUA. This may not seem such big of a deal for you because this is like the cheapest makeup brand that you can find but it's so special for me for some reason. I absolutely love the 3 products that I got from her.
Last but definately not least is this cute little card. Just looking at it makes me feel happy :)
So that is all for this post, once again, thank you so much Lola, I hope you like your stuff as much as I love mine :)
Hey there, this is just a really quick post to wish you guys a Merry Chrsitmas from me, enjoy it, it's not like it's everyday that you can eat way too much food and not feel bad about it haha.
And also you may have noticed that I have redisigned my blog, I really like it, I feel that it looks so much cleaner and neater, and more mature even, what do you think of it? I'm still questioning about the background though, I might change it soon, if I find a better one :) Obviousely it's not gonna stay christmas themed forever, I just thought I'd change it according to the holiday or just a celebration, like soon it's valentine's day etc.
I hope you have a spiffing day and a merry Christmas!
Hey there! I thought I would finish off my christmas series with a tag that I think is very cool :)
1. What is your all time favourite Christmas movie?
Home Alone, all parts. I just love it and in Estonia they come on TV every year just before Christmas so when you see the first part of Home Alone on TV then you know that Christmas is really close :)
2. Have you ever had white Christmas?
It's usually every year, even if there's just a little bit of snow but sometimes the snow has melted by Christmas, which seems to be the case for this year also :/
3. Where do you usually have the Christmas party?
We have a big party with all our relatives together and then every year we're in a different house, like one year we're at my granny's, the other year we're at my other relatives etc.
4. Play or sing your favourite Christmas song
*sings it out loud*
5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Yes. Well actually we wake up on Christmas eve morning and then downstairst we have presents under the tree and then we open them first thing in the morning. Sometimes it could happen that during the day some more presents come there (from grandma and grandpa) and then we open these too. And then on Christmas day we have santa coming over and there we also get one present each.
6. Can you name all santa's reindeer?
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen. Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall, the most famous reindeer of all? Rudolph the red nosed reindeer...hahah, sorry I had to sing it but the anwser is yeah.
7. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
We have a real tree, I just love the smell of spruce! But I do have a mini fake one in my room every year.
8. Hands down all time favourite holiday food and sweet treat.
I think it must be the classic, boiled potatoes and sauerkarut. And sweet treat obviousely gingerbread!
9. Be honest, do you like giving or recieving gifts?
I really enjoy giving. First of all, you get an excuse to go shopping, pretty major reason to love givng gifts, huh? ;) and second is the feeling you get inside, especially when you're happy with the present, and the other person likes it too, it's the warm and fuzzy feeling that you get inside yunno
10. Dream place to visit for Christmas?
It's gotta be London for me. I've seen SO MANY amazing pictures of the Big Eye and Big Ben during Christmas time and also the fireworks seem so cool there.
11. Does your family have a traditional Christmas recipe?
Our family doesn't really but one thing that you might not know about Estonia (if you're not from here obviousely) is that when it's Christmas and actually overall winter time Estonians like to eat blood sausage. Yup. I know what you're thinking but hey, there's the blood pudding that some people like to eat too, not Estonians. And I actually quite like the blood sausage.
12. Most memorable Christmas memory?
Okay, this is like really bad...my most memorable memory with Christmas is a bad one. But I just remember that picture of me where I'm like 6 years old and I come crying down my kinder garden hall with a pack of candy in my hand. The reason for that was that we had to read a poem to santa and santa seemed so scary, my parents told me that I was terrified of him for quite a few years, but then again, which little kid isn't a bit frightened by this red-nosed guy....
13. What makes the holiday special to you?
I think it's the fact that everybody is just so much happier and so friendly with even strangers. And then the snow is so beautiful, I feel for the countries that don't get any snow in the winter, they're missing out on a really beautiful thing.
14. Do you make new year's resolutions and do you stick to them?
I do make one or two little resolutions but I don't usually stick to them. For 2014 though, I want to keep blogging because I really suck at sticking to things but blogging is something that I really love so let's just hope that I'll continue to do that. And then another thing that I hope to do is to graduate 9th grade with good grades. And the third resolution is to go to London, just go there somehow, I need to get my parents in on that!!!
So that is it for the tag and I would love to see you doing it too, so as usual, I'm tagging you all :)
My question to you this time is, what new year's resolutions did you make/will you make yourself for the begnning year?
Have a beautiful, magical, wonderful day!
Merilin xx
Hello guys and welcome to my penultimate Christmas series post! P.S. I totally googled that word and I have no idea if that is correct or not. Basically it's the one before the last post in my christmas series.
Today I wasn't prepared to do any post because I didn't know what exactly to write about but then I thought that I actually know what exact makeup I'm going to wear at the Christmas party with my relatives so I thought it'd be fun to share it with you too.
Ofcourse you should start off with moisturising. I didn't do it a few months back but then one time I tried and makeup literally looked so much better and it felt a lot better on my skin too.
Then first step it to apply foundation, I'm still true to my Rimmel wake me up.
Step 2 is to use concealer, Bourjois healthy mix kinda also works as a highlighter for me so I always skip this step but if yours doesn't then I recommend for you to do the highlighting too.
Then put on some blush, I've been loving the Bourjois cream blush in 02 lately, it's a nice peachy colour and it looks just like a natural glow on your cheeks.
Step 4 is an important one because obviousely you're gonna take a lot of pictures at the party and you don't want your skin to look overly glowy. Rimmel stay matte powder is perfect for keeping your oily skin under control.
Okay, we're gonna move on to eyes and lips.
I think Maybelline color tattoo in metallic pomegrante is a gorgeous colour for autumn/winter time. Apply it to the outer corner of your eye and also in the crease but leave the middle part of your lid untouched. Belnd a little bit with your fingers.
Then I used Misslyn quard in chocolate truffle, I took the lightest shade and applied it to the mid part of my lid. Once it's done, blend the two eyeshadows out with a fluffy brush to not leave any harsh edges.
Step 7 is optional but I took this matte brown eyeshadow and put it on my lower lash line to give some depth to my eyes.
Finish off the eye look by curling your lashes and applying mascara, I love the Maybelline rocket one. I think mascara is the thing that really brings the whole look together.
Last step is to put on some nice lipstick. Since the eyes are quite dark I took more of a nude colour. Bourjois lipstick in rose innocence looks really nice, it's a pinky nude colour and at first I thought of using some lipgloss too but I think i prefer a matte lip for this look a little more.
So that's it for this post, I think it was my first makeup tutorial kind of post on my blog. I hope you liked it and maybe got some inspiration too :)
Hello and happy Saturday! I hope you've had a good week :) It's time for this week's christmassy post, I know I skipped it last week but I seriousely forgot, and I was also really tired!
So as obviousely Christmas is so close like I can't actually believe there's only 17 days left!! When making presents, I don't think just a present is enough, it's always nice to recieve a beautiful self made christmas card I think. So today I thought I'd show you some designs that I came up with, it's really hard to show the process in pictures so I just tried to describe it...I'm sure you'll understand what I did there.
I blurred out the writing cause it's in estonian and you wouldn't understand it.
The first is a very simple one, when you're in a hurry then this would be a good choise. I just took a black marker and drew this line that's supposed to be the wire and then I took my colouring pencils and drew some lights attached to the wire. Another cool thing you can do with it is if you have glow in the dark paint then you can put this on the lights and it'll look really cool in the dark :)
This one takes a bit more time and is also a little harder to make. First I took a strong white paper and then I chose 3 colours that I want my christmas decorations to be, you can even cut them out of the magazine. For the overlay colour I chose green as you can see and I cut it a bit smaller than my white paper. I then marked where I want the ornaments to be and what size they should be and then cut them out of the green paper. Then I just glued the patterned paper on the white part of the card and then glued the green paper over. And ofcourse they're not ornaments without the string to put them on the tree with so I just used a silver pen to draw it on.
This is similar to the last one but it's a lot easier to make. I just cut the shape out of a cardboard and made the corners a bit more round, this is optional but I think it looks cuter like that. Then I just chose 3 patterned papers again and cut out 3 circles in different sizes. Before gluing them on, make sure that you're happy with the layout by first placing them on the card without glue. With this card I also added the little silver attachment and then again used my silver pen to draw on the string.
I think this one is so cute and again easy to make. Again took a strong paper and then I found a brown string and just taped the edges of it to the back of the card leaving the front part loose (I seriousely suck at describing stuff) I cut 3 stockings out of colourful paper and also added this white little edge and taped them to the string. As a finishing touch I cut out 3 little pieces or beige paper and glued it on the top of the stockings to act as a tiny clothes peg.
I kinda came up with this one in last minute, I found this really cool yarn from my drawer, it's got all these um little flecks or you know, you can see the picture. Since it was green I though this would make a cool christmas tree. I put PVA glue (Mod Podge is basically the same) and used a brush to apply it on the paper in a triangle shape. Then I started going from the bottom to top with my yarn and later decorated it with some stars. Here again if you have the glow in the dark paint, this would look really cool.
This card is really creative and you can use up all your old buttons that no one ever uses anymore. Again I put the glue on paper in triangular shape and started mix-matching different pearls, buttons, stars and paper on it. Ofcourse you gotta have a star on top of thre tree so I used silver glitter for it. Here you can stick to just one colour theme like different shades of green or just play around with different colours like I did
I think this one is a fun card to give to a smaller child. It's 3D which makes it interesting for them. The process of it is really hard to explain but I hope you can work it out yourself. It may lool time consuming but actually it didn't take much time at all.
This one has to me my favourite, it looks so elegant and feminine (if you'd use a white bow, I didn't have white ribbon!) With that I found an old necklace that had white and little golden pearls and since it was broken I decided to use the pearls from there. I trased a circle on paper to have a nice even ornament and then applied PVA glue and put the pearls on it. Then I made a bow and sticked it on top and then took some white yarn and glued it on as the attachement. I really love how it turned out and I already know who's gonna get that card from me.
So that is it for this week's christmas post. I hope you find it at least a bit helpful and let me know in the comments what do you think of these cards and will you be making them yourself?
Why don't you listen to this while making cards :)
Well hey there, after a while and merry December! It's ofically Christmas for me now, don't be judging me okayy!
It's time for another review :) I do realise that there are probably way too many reviews of this foundation out there but I just wanted to share my thoughts and feels about it.
I've had this foundation standing on my desk untouched for quite a while, and now I finally re-discovered it for myself. I bought it because I needed something before getting the Rimmel wake me up foundation and honestly when going to the mall I had no idea which to get and then I saw the Maybelline counter and you know I had heard some good reviews about Fit me so I went for that.
First of all they have a Massive range of shades which is really good, they also have a powder called fit me and I think it's really good that they have kind of matched the number of the foundation with the number of the powder, makes it so much easier (I don't have the powder though) About the shades, I think I may have bought a bit too dark one for me, but it's fine for the summer.
Honestly I'm not too impressed about the quality, after reading the reviews I was expecting something a little better. I tried applying it with a brush and also with fingers and in both case it was a little uneven and patchy. As far as the consistency goes, I love it, it's just thick enough, yet not too thick to feel heavy on the skin. It also smells really nice, definately doesn't have this classic bad foundation smell. I can't really complain about my skin, I don't have too bad breakouts, if any (lucky me) although I've heard that it does break out some people pretty badly so I wouldn't recommend it for people with bad skin. Also It's not too good for oily skin, it can leave a pretty glossy finish, even if you only have oily T-zone I wouldn't recommend it (L'oreal true match is good for this kind of skin) Overall the staying power is kinda meh, if you don't go through some extremes like rain and sweating etc. then it may last a bit more than half a day, I have noticed that it starts to fade after about 4-6 hours.
Packaging looks a little cheap to me. The glass bottle is nice, adds this expencive feel but then comes the plastic top, not even that strong plastic, I already have a crack in it and I haven't even used it too much or even travelled with it. I'm not liking the design of the pump either, I sound so picky right now but hey, it's a review and I'm sharing my honest opinion here.
In conclusion, I'm having really mixed feelings about it, I like the consistency but the quality isn't the best. I wouldn't recommend it, I think I'll use up this bottle but I definately won't be repurchasing it.
Let me know, have you ever tried this and what do you think?
