Hey there! I'm sorry for not posting anything for a week I think. I've been quite busy with our folk dancing festival, there have been some nights when I got home around 3 or 4 am and had to wake up at 9:30 am so I was too tired to consentrate on my blog.
I just wanted to share with you my festival experience because I felt like it was awesome this year :)
First a couple of days before the concerts we had 2 days of rehersal, first day was very nice and sunny but considering that we danced like 3 hours straight it was way too hot. The second day on the other hand was so rainy and we had to dance with rain poring on us and later there was also thundering and lightning, which to me was freakin scary.
The first days of the festival me and my dance group didn't perform so I just watched other people dancing and singing, oh and we also had some groups outside estonia too, like Scotland group called McLennan (you can't imegine how much I enjoyed like literally listening the real and pure english that they spoke), Russia, Czeck and Poland.
Here are some pictures of them performing on stage.

That's the scottish group and it was so funny because they were men wearing skirts, or well, kilts, and they were dancing like ballerinas, so it was very entretaining to watch, well done, scotland!

This is a man palying the original scotland's bag pipes.

This was Czeck I think

This is Poland and just look at their clothes, even thicker and warmer than ours!

Poland group again, the man who is looking in the camera saw me taking picture and then he smiled but unfortunatley my phone was too slow so it only captured the moment of him being grumpy.

Russians!

This is so cool, it's the scottish couple and to me they look a bit royal, I don't know :P

For 3 days there were festival clubs in our school canteen, We had like our own table there and basically what people did there was dancing, different countries showed everybody their dances and then anybody could join it. It was so much fun and festival clubs are probably the best part about our folk dancing festivals.
The last day was the main concert where we also performed, in the evening there was a parade or something where every dance group walked from one place to another to perform on stage.

that is me in my clothes, sorry about the face, it's really hard to take a selfie in full lengt...
That night was very fun, first there were different dance groups performing again and later that night a band came to sing, where everybody danced again, not folk dancing anymore.. At 11 pm we saw fireworks and my picture quality is really poor because once again, it was taken with phone.
After that the band played a little more and when they finished, some people just satyed there to dance on top of the tables and 'party on'
Me and my friends also stayed but we were a bit away from the other people and then we just chatted and well basically, it was something new to me but as I said it was very fun. I ended up getting home at 4 am and I had to get up at 10 am for my friend's birthday at the beach, soo yeah, I'm still very tired but today was the first day over 3 or 4 days when I got to sleep as long as I wanted.
I am curious, does your homwtown do these kind of festivals too, and do you take part, wether it's performing there or just watching other people perform?
